About Jessica

'Pennies and Feathers is dedicated to my mum, who was my main inspiration for the development of the range. She kindled my passion for beauty and skincare and she would have been so excited to use these products. Sadly, she passed away in 2015 from breast cancer. Before she left, she told me that if there was any way that she could let me know that she was still around, then she would do so by leaving pennies and feathers in my path.'

Jessica Hurley, Founder of Pennies & Feathers

Jessica is a professional hair and makeup artist, having begun her career in the film industry and then developing her skills at two prestigious London salons.

During her time at these salons, Jessica was a part of their bridal team, as well as being called upon to design makeup looks for fashion trunk shows and opera singers.

Throughout her career she has learnt from some of the best artists and stylists assisting on exciting shoots for Tatler, Vogue and Glamour magazine to name a few.

She has looked after clients for television and theatre appearances too, as well as being a successful bridal artist.

Her mum, Janine, was always made up and looking glamourous, and so struggled with the physical side effects of chemotherapy. Her skin became lack-lustre and dry, but it was incredibly important for her to still feel like herself.

After she sadly died in 2015 Jessica wanted to create purpose in her life again, and to create a range of products that would have helped nourish and give life back to her mum's skin.

She also vowed to help those who are living alongside a cancer diagnosis to still live well and still see the beauty in themselves and the world around them.
